How We Help You Succeed
Pre-Arrival Support
Pre-Arrival Support starts with understanding clients’ journeys and includes information on immigration processes, cultural orientation, and job market analysis. This early assistance aims to facilitate a smooth transition and prepare individuals for successful integration into the Canadian workforce.
Job Readiness
Our programs focus on developing essential competencies, such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, networking strategies, and understanding Canadian workplace culture. Through tailored training, we empower individuals to confidently navigate the job search process and secure meaningful employment.
Mentorship
Mentorship is a valuable peer-to-peer strategy that helps mentees, internationally trained professionals eligible to work in Canada, learn about their profession, expand their network, understand workplace culture, and prepare for employment. Mentors are experienced professionals who support mentees in their career development.
Professional Development & Coaching
Our programs enhance job readiness through blended learning, incorporating insights from Canadian employers, HR experts, immigrant service organizations, and skilled newcomers, with a focus on developing soft skills for professionals new to Canada.
Partnership & Employer Engagement
CRIEC has been working with its employer partners to develop new programs that will better serve our internationally trained clients. These programs are designed to prepare our clients with job readiness and create direct pathways into the Canadian workforce.
Work Placements
By partnering with Canadian employers, we connect individuals to placements that match their skills and career goals. These opportunities help apply theoretical knowledge, build professional networks, and gain insights into the Canadian workplace, enhancing job readiness and improving employment prospects.
Are You Eligible?
To join our Mentorship for Internationally Trained Professionals program, you must:
- Have one of the following statuses: Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, or Protected Person selected by IRCC.
- Be settled in Calgary and ready to prioritize a mentoring partnership.
- Hold post-secondary education obtained outside Canada.
- Have at least 1 year of professional experience in your field from outside Canada.
- Be unemployed or underemployed in your profession/sector.
- Possess English language skills at a CLB Level 7 or IELTS Level 6.
- Commit to 1–1.5 hours per week over 8–16 weeks for mentoring meetings (during business hours, Monday–Friday).
