Mentor with CRIEC

Share your skills, time, and expertise to support newcomer professionals in achieving meaningful career success.

Mentorship That Makes a Difference

At CRIEC, we harness the power of mentorship to help internationally trained professionals build meaningful careers in Calgary.

Through one-on-one partnerships, mentees are matched with experienced professionals who offer guidance on job search strategies, interview preparation, Canadian workplace culture, and effective networking.

We take care to create thoughtful, well-aligned matches—and support both mentors and mentees every step of the way with coaching, resources, and ongoing check-ins.

Ways to Mentor

Whether you have an hour to give or want to build a longer-term connection, there’s a mentorship opportunity that fits your schedule and strengths.

1:1 Mentorship

Build a lasting, supportive relationship over three months. Mentors and mentees meet on a flexible schedule—weekly, bi-weekly, in person, or virtually. You’ll help your mentee navigate re-licensure, job searching, and settling into life and work in Calgary.

Coffee Meetings

Short on time but still want to make an impact? These one-time conversations offer mentees focused advice on career direction, interviews, or a specific challenge. A single chat can make a big difference.

Smart Connections

Think speed mentoring. At these fast-paced events, mentors meet several mentees in 10–15 minute rounds. It’s a dynamic way to share insight, help newcomers practice networking, and strengthen their confidence.

Cohort Mentorship

Support a small group of 2–6 mentees in structured group sessions. You’ll guide conversations on key topics like networking, resumes, and interview prep—while helping mentees learn from each other, too.

Workshop Facilitation

Love to teach or present? Lead interactive workshops on topics like Canadian workplace culture, job readiness, or regulatory processes. These sessions can be tailored to your profession or open to broader audiences.

No matter how you choose to mentor, your time and insights can open doors for someone new to Canada.
